Maxwell’s has The Push Stars starting at 9 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 day of show. Soul Food plays Scotland Yard in Hoboken, 9:30 p.m. The Whiskey Bar has The Window at 9 p.m. and Days Awake at 10 p.m.

Friday, April 16:

Unchained – billed as “the ultimate Van Halen tribute band” – plays The Arena at George’s in Bayonne. Tobin Sprout (formerly of Guided by Voices) and Higgins play Maxwell’s starting at 10 p.m., $10. Uncle Joe’s in Jersey City has Nemo and Electric Bastards. Jersey cover band Big Orange Cone will be at O’Donoghue’s on First in Hoboken.

Saturday, April 17:

The Shannon in Hoboken has Soul Fist, T.B.A. and Buzz Universe. Nemo and Electric Bastards play at Uncle Joe’s in Jersey City. Beneath the Skin at O’Donoghue’s on First. Life Speed at Whiskey Bar in Hoboken. Maxwell’s has Dirt Bike Annie, $7.

Sunday, April 18:

Truffle Duo – whose members have shared stages with Little Feat, Phish, and Blues Traveler – performs at Liberty in Hoboken at 8 p.m. It’s Open-Mic Night at O’Donoghues on First in Hoboken, hosted by New Vintage. Scotland Yard in Hoboken has Big Mike and the Perpetrators at 8 p.m. P.J. Ryan’s in Jersey City has karaoke starting at 8:30 p.m.

Monday, April 19:

It’s happy hour all night at Oddfellows Rest in Hoboken. Welcomed Words poetry open-mic night at Rodeo-Ristra in Hoboken, featuring Jersey City poet Christine Goodman and music by Phil Risen, 8 p.m. Blues Jam with Big Ed at 9:30 p.m. at Scotland Yard in Hoboken.

Tuesday, April 20:

Maxwell’s has NJ Songwriters in the Round featuring Christina Alessi, Mary Ann Farley, Greg Naughton, and Bobby Syvarth – no cover, 8:30 p.m. ArtKore open-mic night with music by Alex Battles at Rodeo-Ristra in Hoboken. Sign-up begins at 8 p.m. The Whiskey Bar has J.J. Appleton at 9 p.m., Haize at 10 p.m., and Lotus at 11 p.m. Bill Turner & Blue Smoke plays R&Bz in Bayonne – no cover, 9 p.m. And it’s Ski Club Night at Willie McBride’s, starting at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, April 21:

Battle of the Bands featuring One Nine Crew at 9 p.m., Newborn Kings at 10 p.m., and Another Day Wasted at 11 p.m. at the Whiskey Bar in Hoboken. Rodeo-Ristra presents Blow-Up Radio, Tommy Anton, John Traglieri, Jon Dacks, and Souls Release in this week’s installment of its Metamorphic Original Music Series, 9 p.m. And it’s Swing Night at Willie McBride’s, starting at 7 p.m.
