Mardi Gras time
Hey dude, after I read the paper (Current) I decided to call a couple of my buddies and head over to Oddfellows for Mardi Gras. I think the night will be off the hook. Have you been there before? – Eric S.
The Mardi Gras events at Oddfellows are legendary. I went last year and had a blast.

Eugene’s corner
The honeymoon is over and Carrie ended up with Big last weekend. I’m talking about Sex and the City, of course. The dynamic show about four independent, vibrant and eloquent women living in New York City ended its six-year-run on (it’s not TV, it’s) HBO last Sunday night. Although some episodes presented a fictitious pro-women approach to single life in the Big Apple, overall I did enjoy the show. It was trendy and hip. The foursome frequented the hottest nightspots and New York City was portrayed as a romantic, yet brutal place to live, eat, and find a soul mate. The show’s influence on pop culture is undeniable, making Cosmos very in-style and resurrecting vogue fashion.
Men learned plenty from Sex and the City. We realized women talk a lot about doing it, and when they are faced with the decision of choosing between a pair of Manolo Blahniks or paying rent, they’ll often choose the shoes. Sex ad the City was an escape from the real world for many, and I’m not talking MTV’s version of the real world. Sex gave many singles hope that going through life hanging out with friends and enjoying a dinner-for-one at a nice restaurant can be very cool. It also reminded us that dinner for two can be even cooler.
