Dear Editor:
Through a change in hours at my job, I’ve had the opportunity to attend the last few council meetings. A few times the term ‘hiring freeze’ came up, and after one meeting, I asked my councilman what that exactly meant and he explained.
Now I am under the impression that the City of Hoboken has just hired a new parking director, Mr. John Corea.
Mr. Mayor, what is his salary? I always look for jobs in Hoboken to ease my commute to NYC, and I did not see this advertised. Was it?
Where did this money come from? At a meeting in December, I learned that Hoboken laid off a few dispatchers; why didn’t those people get hired back?
