Dear Editor:
December will be remembered as a month of disappointment for the citizens of Guttenberg. Never in our town’s history has there been a mayor who has shown a blatant disregard for the safety and concerns of the people he represents. The recent string of stabbings could have probably been adverted were it not for the mayor’s uncaring attitude.
Fortunately for us, our concerns did not go unanswered. After diligently pursuing this issue at our local town meeting, our demands were addressed not by Guttenberg’s mayor, but by West New York’s Mayor Albio Sires who appealed to Guttenberg’s administration to make a motion to close the bars an hour earlier.
I would like to personally thank Mayor Sires for showing true leadership not only in West New York but also in our town of Guttenberg. By working together we can make our town a safer place to live
