Dear Editor:
On behalf of the Executive Board of Local 2262 we apologize to the veterans of this Local Union who were supposed to have been off on Veteran’s Day. As you know it is a legal holiday and according to our contract, we have the day off, and we had to work with no compensation. The Board of Ed did not consult this Union on this matter.
I for one as a veteran could not enjoy the day off and go to the parade as I usually do. Board of Ed, let’s not forget the dedication and sacrifices of our veterans. Veteran’s Day is a legal holiday.
