Nightlife Spotlight

The Current recently attended the second annual Hoboken Ball during the beginning of the month at Hoboken’s only beach.There was live entertainment from the local act Joyride, and more than 1,000 area residents partied it up for a good cause. The event was a fundraiser for the Hoboken Historical Museum. This year’s theme was Hot Night in Havana, and dozens of tents with heaters were set up on the waterfront of the former Maxwell House Coffee Factory on Hudson Street. People danced while bartenders provided the traditional Cuban cocktail "mojito."

Last year, the Hoboken Ball was held at the Hoboken Train Terminal and more than 1,000 people attended.

Organizers said they raised approximately $10,000 for the museum this year.

The Hoboken Ball is quickly becoming a tradition. People enjoy the scenery and discover the many treasures Hoboken has to offer. The Hoboken Historical Museum is located at 1301 Hudson St. q
