Thank you all for making the 7th season of the Hoboken Farmers’ Market successful

Dear Editor:

The seventh season of the Hoboken Farmers’ Market has concluded and I would just like to say thank you. First, I would like to thank the vendors, K&S, Union Hill, Melick’s, and Old Hook farms, the Bread Co., Pickle-icious, Farmersville cheese and Anne Traubin, thank you for making our market successful despite our last minute change of location and an inclement spring.

I would like to thank the Mayor and City Council for approving the market for yet another season. I would also like to thank the City of Hoboken’s Department of Environmental Services for transporting and storing my equipment every week and the Parks Department for providing and picking up garbage receptacles and for the sand bags that kept my tent from blowing away. My thanks also extend to the Hoboken Parking Utility who bagged the meters on Washington Street so that the vendors could park their vehicles, and the Signal & Traffic Division for the “No Parking” signs.

I’d like to say thank you to the State of New Jersey Department of Agriculture for providing us with a statewide program that encourages markets like ours to exist and thrive. It was certainly a pleasure meeting Secretary Kuperus the day of his visit to the market.

Thanks to the New Jersey Council of Farmers and Communities for overseeing and coordinating all of the farmers’ markets in the state, including ours. I’d like to thank Anne Marie Manca for our poster and Internet Plus for printing it. And would especially like to thank Cynthia Silber and Robin Whitney for all the volunteer work they do to make the Hoboken Farmers’ Market happen every year.

Of course, there would be no market without those of you who come out every week to enjoy Jersey Fresh produce. Thank you all for making this weekly community event the highlight of my year again. Thank you.
