Dear Editor:
Thinking that it should be easy to get a checking account here in Hoboken, I shopped around.
Customer reps at two banks both told me that because of 9/11, security is now tighter and that I had to show them not one, but two photo ID cards. I only had one. Even getting on a plane you only have to show one.
But here’s the kick-in-the-head! My Social Security card would not help me in the least, but if I had a green card to show them, I would have got approved!
