Dear Editor:
My appreciation goes out to the voters of the 3rd Ward. Their faith in me is reassuring and gratifying. They responded to my position, issue oriented campaign by giving me 44 percent of the votes cast. What I, other candidates and grass roots supporters did in the May 13th election was to take a stand against county and state machine politics, intimidating paid campaign workers and an unlimited war chest. This is what our community needs.
I will not disappoint you in the remaining days of this campaign. Residents are tired of the negative campaigning and tactics of the Hoboken United team. We must focus on the issues of high taxes, run away deficit spending and lack of affordable housing initiatives. All of us see through the outrageous lies of the Roberts’ Administration attempting to take credit for the hard work of others, their fictitious 5000 parking spaces, the lack of leadership and the divisive us against them attacks.
To my family and friends who stick by me and to the many people I meet throughout our city, I thank you and look forward being able to help you. Let’s not forget that we have one more obstacle to overcome. Please don’t forget to vote on June 10th. Hopefully, we will have a City Council with its own ideas and vision.
Very truly yours,
Anthony Russo
