Modern ‘musicians’ are a flash in the pan — I hope

Dear Editor:

Real music is everlasting.

It pains me to be redundant but I must. Poor DeBussy, Rossini, Tchaikovsky, Offenbach, etc, etc. Poor Mantavani, Rodgers & Hart, Lerner & Lowe, Leonard Bernstein, etc, etc. Poor Percy Faith, 101 Strings, Ferrante & Tiecher. All suffering ever lasting vomiting. I bid them all “be patient” those that dominate the stage, currently, at best, if they last a few months before obscurity, are an abhorrition and will leave little trace of ever having seen the dawn of light.

These buffoons and ersatz clowns that are being celebrated by scoundrels that will stoop to selling their excrement-laden souls for the almighty dollar cannot qualify for a second hand circus. The noise, cacophony, that an alley cat on a midnight yelp, can easily be received as closer to music, offends the ear brutally.

If I chose to get metaphysical, I easily could make a link that this utter failing in connection with resemblance to any art or culture, might be one of the causes that have fostered many nations to highly fear U.S. influence on their way of life which has culminated in resentment and disgust.

If anyone, who is probably stone deaf, just by the decibel exaggeration to overcome the lack of substance in their chaotic handling of obviously expensive musical instruments, is offended in any way at this defamatory statement, I know in my heart I have struck a victory of decency. For I certainly deserve compensation for they’ve inflicted a higher offense on me and lovers of art and culture by even suggesting that they in any way should be compensated in the guide of “musicians” or the confusion they lend to the coming generation.

Angelo Nanfro

P.S. Art lovers everywhere please come to the defense of music and protect the criminal treatment of sound.
