Dear Editor:
On February 1 the magnificent seven were on their way home, but the Columbia and crew, starting to break up from California to Texas, looked like another disaster in the making. Television was broadcasting that the Columbia crew is in trouble and in distress. The shuttle lost all contact with mission control at 9 a.m. There was no joy but tears. We lost more brave heroes; this reminded me of the W.T.C., that we will never forget. This tragedy was a day to remember because 17 years ago we lost the Challenger; that explosion taking off. We will win this battle of tragedy with a full strength for the next shuttle crew that’s in space.
The Columbia will be in our hearts, School kids will remember when they left on Friday to go home for the day, and on Saturday morning they watched the shuttle disaster. Like many others across the country and the world, the astronauts were a family lost like Ground Zero, the shuttle was crashing and breaking up. This is one person who watched on television the last three tragedies that happened. We all must have faith in America’s future.
Mr. President, yes, we have troops in South Korea and they need our support. Everyone knows because we lost many soldiers in North Korea. It’s just as bad as Iraq. What we need is peace all over the world, we are the land of the free.
God Bless America, and we all share the widsom that comes with experience.
