Dear Editor:
I am writing this letter to address every woman business owner in Hudson County. I have wonderful news to report. The New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners is organizing a chapter in Hudson County. We are a statewide organization with over 700 members dedicated to encouraging and supporting business ownership by women. As State Chapter Development Chair, I have been working diligently the last few months to recruit the necessary fifteen (15) members to charter this chapter. This has not been as easy as I had anticipated. Many women have expressed interest and have requested information. Where are they? I urge every woman who owns a business to consider the opportunities that abound in this association: Networking, continuing education in topics related to business development, seminars, programs on both chapter and state levels, an annual conference, award programs, visibility and, above all, participation in something meaningful. NJAWBO can also assist you in becoming a certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE), so you can compete for government and corporate contracts.
I cannot begin to express what NJAWBO has done for me. Through active participation and volunteering in various capacities. I have become a more effective business owner, leader, manager, speaker, and above all, a better person and a mentor to other women. NJAWBO members are successful women working toward common goals with other successful women, or those who are striving to be successful. Women who become leaders in our organization often become leaders in other venues. Several of our members serve on government commissions and have been appointed by governors and even U.S. Presidents to act as advisors on key issues effecting women and business. I am very excited about organizing this new chapter in Hudson County. Now all of you have an excellent opportunity to create an endeavor of your own. I will gladly make myself available to anyone who would like information. If enough people express interest and decide to join, I will gladly plan an organizational meeting for this chapter.
