Dear Editor:
The family of the late Weehawken Deputy Mayor Louis Ferullo would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the Mayor, Township Council, Police Department, Fire Department, Volunteer First Aid Squad, Department of Public Works and especially, the townspeople of Weehawken, for what has been an immeasurable show of love and support during these past few difficult weeks.
While the death of Lou was a tremendous shock to us, his family, we realize his passing has saddened an entire community. While he is irreplaceable to us all, our hearts and spirits were lifted by people from every corner of Weehawken who rallied to help us somehow make sense of our grief. We feel blessed to know so many wonderful people and to be a part of this extraordinary community.
We would also like to extend our appreciation to the Weehawken Reporter for the coverage of Lou’s passing. You effectively captured the selfless way he represented the people of Weehawken — from senior citizens to children, and everyone in between.
Finally, we wish all the best to Carmela Silvestri Ehret on her appointment to the Township Council. There could not be a finer replacement for Lou, and we know he would wholeheartedly agree. Having been friends with Carmela for more than 20 years, we know first hand what a tremendous person she is and are confident she will uphold the role of representing Weehawken’s First Ward.
Thank you, Township of Weehawken, for all you have done. The support and strength we have derived from you will be remembered always.
Sincerely,
The Ferullo Family
