Dear Editor:
Thanks to the persistent efforts of Guttenberg Housing Inspector Bob Rogers in early autumn, the tenants in our building have had decent heat this winter. And it’s been colder than normal.
In the past couple of years it’s been too hot or too cold, depending on which way the wind was blowing. According to a PSE&G repairman I spoke to a while back, the old boiler was losing 1/2 to 2/3 of the heat right out of the chimney and a hole on the side of the old boiler. With the new boiler installed, it should cut the landlord’s heating bills in half. The money being saved from the heating bills alone for two to three years will pay for the cost of the new boiler. After that it’s all savings, and the landlord will be glad he was forced to install a new boiler. Thank you Mr. Rogers. Keep up the good work.
Also, kudos to the Guttenberg Police Department and those involved in catching the idiot who was spray painting graffiti on town buildings. Nice work. It’s idiots like that that can make a town look run down and dirty.
