Dedications honor great school leaders

Dear Editor:

Congratulations to our town’s public officials and our Library Board members for providing the community of Secaucus with a most impressive public library and resource center. As attractive as the building is from the outside, the inside of the facility far exceeded the expectations of most, if not all of the great many who attended the January 4th dedication. It was another very proud day for Secaucus town officials and residents. Town employees gave their full cooperation and the library staff top to bottom did a great job of preparing for the opening and then striving to make everyone present feel comfortable.

A comprehensive library is essential to a community’s educational system. America’s great universities each have multiple libraries, with literally millions of books, manuscripts, and resource items because they are important tools in the development of tomorrow’s leaders. Our new library will be all of that, as well as still another source of pride for our community and it’s leaders and residents.

Congratulations, also to our Library Board members for dedicating the new children’s area of the library in honor of the late Margaret Grazioli, who for 30 years served our community as Library Director with great talent and understanding. Congratulations too, to the Board of Education for their decision of name our soon to be built Community Arts Facility, the Arthur F. Couch Performing Arts Center in honor of our late longtime outstanding Schools Superintendent.

These two superb public servants dedicated much of their lives to educating and enriching the lives of our students, because they believed, as I do, that providing a truly solid education is the most important gift we can give our children. It is my hope that our residents and the members of our business community will continue to support educational endeavors that will result in the further betterment of our town and its people.
