Turnpike has more respect for the dead than Hudson County ever did!

Dear Editor:

I have been following this story closely. The Turnpike is involved with only a small percentage (20 percent) of the graves in question. The majority of the graves dating from the mid-1800s to 1922 are located on Hudson County property. Hudson County has been the entity that has neglected the cemetery and used it as a landfill.

The Turnpike has to be commended for their proposed disinterment plans and the respect they will be showing to the people being moved. These individuals will be given much more respect during the disinterment and reinterment than they ever had by Hudson County.
