Non-perishable food donations appreciated

Dear Editor:

The Salvation Army of Jersey City will once again distribute food for the holidays to those less fortunate. This year in particular, we need the help of the public, to provide non-perishable food to be used in our distributions. Unfortunately, this holiday season, our food supplies are low and the number of potential recipients has risen dramatically.

I would like to personally ask for your support in our efforts to feed the hungry people in our community for the holidays. Our doors will be open Monday-Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm until December 13th, to accept non-perishable food donations or local supermarket vouchers. I know I can count on your generous support.

This year we will also continue with our holiday tradition of seasonal assistance such as toys needy children and small gifts for the elderly. Your financial contribution to our red kettles, allows us to provide not only seasonal assistance, but assistance all throughout the year. If you would like information about our programs or would like to volunteer, please call me directly at (201) 435-7355, ext. 5 or visit us at 562 Bergen Avenue, Jersey City.

Thank you for your help and generosity.
