John, you’re gone and your memory lingers on
What happened the night you set out on that flight?
With your sister-in-law and wife,
Something happened with your plane no one will know,
You went into a spin and couldn’t go slow,
The sky was hazy, the night was dark,
John’s plane had missed the mark,
Suddenly the silence gave way to a fright
And then there was a crash in the dead of the night.
Another tragedy in the Kennedy life,
We now wonder, will the misfortune linger on?
Or will the Kennedy’s hex be gone?
John, John, what happened that night
With you, your sister-in-law and wife?
We’ll never know the mystery of life,
How Kennedy took off on that terrible flight,
His plane lost there in the night.
