Dear Editor:
Pink, peach, yellow and red
Roses nightly by my bed
Hyacinth and Lilac blue
A joy to link my spirit to
Branches stretch and leaves increase
Scamping birds play hide and seek
Fallen petals in repose
Still a pleasure to behold
Gone a rainbow-colored spring
Summer’s here, green is king
Green in sun and dappled shade
Green is God of everything
Save for bursts of gaudy flight
Cardinals, Blue Jays flapping bright
Soft-hued doves plumply cooing
Scrappy sparrows busy doing
Bumble bees, wasps and leaves
Buzz and rustle as they please
Oblivious to the city shrill
Tend my garden ’till autumns chill
