His birth was very painful
As all births are, we know
But when she embraced her infant son
Her face was all aglow.
And as he started out in school
This mother’s pride and joy,
She thought what will his future be
When he’s no longer a little boy?
As he grew a little older
And the talk of war was near
She prayed, “Please God, don’t let him go!”
I guess that’s every mother’s fear.
And now he’s up in heaven.
But if you listen close you’ll hear him say,
“You never really lost me, Mom
For I’m with you every day.”
