Dear Editor:
Am I the only one who thinks that docking a cruise liner in Hoboken is a ridiculous idea? How can Mayor Roberts talk about improving traffic and congestion on the one hand and then propose to locate a cruise ship here with a shopping mall. Thousands of people will regularly descend on Hoboken for the sole purpose of parking their car and leaving for a week. Is this supposed to help the parking situation or the traffic situation?
What benefits do the residents of Hoboken get besides easy access to a cruise ship? Why does Hoboken need a mall on the waterfront? Why not work to strengthen Washington Street as promised during the election.
What is going on in the Mayor’s brain that he finds this cruise ship idea to be a positive for Hoboken? Next Mayor Roberts will be trying to bring the NASCAR to Hoboken. Give me a break!
