Dear Editor:
In spite of the inclement weather on Saturday, April 20, Union City’s Board of Education Earth Day Festival was the best ever. The success of this endeavor could not have been accomplished without the concerted efforts of volunteers, students, faculty and administrators.
Community projects, such as this, show what can be done when a group of interested people take a worthwhile idea and put it into action resulting in the improvement of quality of life. It demonstrates that what our schools are trying to instill in our children regarding recycling and cleaning up the world around us is bearing fruit.
To everyone who participated in whatever activity, I thank you for helping to make this program the success that it was and for making Union City a better place to live.
