Board members will do a good job

Dear Editor:

I would like to thank the voters of Hoboken for their overwhelming support in this past Tuesday’s School Board elections. With this decisive victory, we now have a clear mandate to instill fiscal and administrative accountability in the Hoboken Board of Education and to move forward with the Hoboken-Stevens Partnership for Public Education.

Frances Rhodes Kearns, Carmelo Garcia and John Raslowsky II will do a fine job on the Board of Education, and I look forward to working with them as we continue our community discussion on the Hoboken-Stevens Partnership. Although there is still much work ahead, I believe that our goal of building a technologically advanced Lab School that infuses technology into the classroom in a meaningful way, along with expanding the International Baccalaureate curriculum through the Sixth Grade in Hoboken’s schools, is the right approach toward making our school district among the best in the nation. If we work together, and always put our children first, this vision can become a reality.

Thank you again for your continued support.

David Roberts
Mayor
