On Stage Sinatra

Dear Editor:

I wish to thank Principal Charles Tortarella of A.J. Demarest Middle School and his beautiful wife Laura for attending “On Stage Sinatra.” I thank him for his objective assessment of the show and for allowing all students of A.J. Demarest to attend the week of February 25th. Thank you to the faculty of A.J. Demarest for their attendance, enthusiasm and active participation.

Mr. Sinatra once sang to an audience of more than 175,000 people in Rio De Janiero, Brazil at Marcana’s Soccer Stadium in the early 70’s, still a world record in the Guiness World Book of Records. It is a historical fact and Hoboken pride that Frank Sinatra began his true love of music in and on the stage at A.J. Demarest High School in 1931.

His greatest ambition in life was, “To Pass onto others the knowledge he possessed in music and wisdom, but more importantly , to younger people.”

Thanks to all the students at A.J. Demarest who respectfully attended “On Stage Sinatra.” They all know by now he would have said, “You are all marvelous, simply marvelous.”

Special thanks to Senator Bernard Kenney and his administrative assistant Cathy Cardino for their attendance.

Thank you Jeff Henig from North Jersey Cable Vision. Thanks to Mayor Dave Roberts and the City Council supporting From Here to Eternity by resolution on August 15th 2001. The Museum From Here to Eternity at the birthplace of Mr. Frank Sinatra offers to all schools in Hoboken and all Senior citizen groups free of charge provided my schedule allows it since I have taken the show in the road to support the museum performing throughout the Tri State Area.
