Mishka and Sonja say ‘thanks’

Dear Editor:

I wish to express my gratitude to the members of Jersey City’s St. Dominic Academy Student Organization for Animal Rights (SOFAR), PSE&G’s Palisades Division and Hudson Generating Station and the Town of Secaucus.

As a New Jersey licensed wildlife rehabilitator, I was in need of nesting boxes and release cages in order to free rehabilitated animals back to their natural habitat. Wildlife rehabilitators assist animals that have been sick, injured or orphaned.

The high quality of these structures ensures that we will be healing animals for years to come.

My heartfelt thanks to these wonderful, caring volunteers who stepped forward and built these boxes that helped the animals return to their homes and their ultimate freedom.

Mishka and Sonja (the first two raccoons to use the cages) and I are deeply indebted to each of them for coordinating this release.

A great big round of applause for the cage builders and to The Hudson Reporter staff writer Al Sullivan for telling a great story!
