It’s a privilege to vote, or not to vote!

Dear Editor:

This is in response to Mayor Elwell’s letter of 12/02/01 praising Secaucus residents who exercised their right and voted on election day.

The system in our Republic is that voters have the right to vote which is a privilege. Voters are given the right to support a candidate of their choice, or sometimes voters have to choose between the "lesser of two evils."

Also voters have the right not to vote. This could be called a protest vote or one who refuses to vote for the "evil of two lessers."
