Dear Editor:
As a lifelong resident of Hoboken and former vice-chairman of the Hoboken Democratic Party, I would like to express my support for the Democratic ticket headed by Gubernatorial candidate James McGreevey in the November 6 election.
Hoboken, like many other cities in our state, has experienced tremendous growth. We need support from our State government in the form of additional transportation funding and assistance in helping to reduce local traffic and encourage regional mass transit.
We need the support of a governor who will stand up to irresponsible developers and ensure that the State Plan is enforced. This would protect Hoboken and New Jersey against harmful developments that have the potential to forever take away our open space and public land.
But most importantly, Hoboken needs a governor who will strongly support public education and our dedicated teachers, including our very successful Charter Schools, to provide the best education for our children.
With my nearly 20 years of experience in municipal, county, state and federal government and public service, I know that Jim McGreevey is the best choice for Hoboken and New Jersey’s future.
Please support the entire "Column A" Democratic team next Tuesday on Election Day. Vote for James McGreevey for Governor, Bernard F. Kenny, Jr. for State Senator, Albio Sires and Rafael J. Fraguela for State Assembly, Joseph T. Cassidy for Hudson County Sheriff and Barbara A. Donnelly for Hudson County Register.
