For my daughter…

Dear Editor:

I am living in this country for 32 years, and I always feel bad when I see people wearing items with the American Flag pattern like socks, shoes, bandannas, etc. At that time I thought people had no respect for this country’s flag, but now, after September 11, 2001, when we were astonished at the sudden terroristic attack throughout the country, I can see how proud people feel being part of America the Beautiful.

No matter how the Flag is used, it is a demonstration of Patriotism.

My daughter is a Marine, Sergeant Rosa. On July 2001 she started her fifth year in the service; she is in Washington, DC.

Because she works at the Base I was worried to death, but she called me after the terrorist attack and told me that she is alright; she likes what she is doing and that she feels strong and ready to be sent anywhere to serve and defend our country with Pride and Honor. "Semper Fidelity."

Here is something for my daughter:

You made us proud Today and Always

Ending our fears, so no more tears…

Succumb the Terror, succumb the horror

Exhale peace, exhale Hope

Nothing feels better that to know We Love You

I pray to God with all my fervor

At this time of war, to keep you safe.

With all love ,

Diana I. Uscocovitch

My daughter’s name is Yesenia
