Schundler must go…

Dear Editor:

Recently, we contributed to Bret Schundler’s campaign. If we had a receipt, we would ask for our money back!

Over the past several months we have learned that for years Bret Schundler has cheated the taxpayers of Jersey City. Poor senior citizens were forced to sell their homes because they could not afford the overburdened property taxes.

Bret Schundler does not care about people or the environment, only big business. He can be bought and sold over and over again. The voters of this state need to have an honest view of this man and his positions. Plain and simple, this man is a phony.

The NJ Federation of Sportsmen is a hunting organization that holds six of 11 seats on the NJ Fish & Game Council. All but one member of this Council is a hunter. The Federation’s May 2001 newsletter contained an interview with Bret Schundler, candidate for Governor. In this article he gives strong support for hunting and trapping and allowing hunting on Sundays giving no thought to hikers and mountain bikers who consider Sunday their only “safe” day. The NJ Federation of Sportsmen has, of course, endorsed Mr. Schundler for Governor.

Seventy thousand people in New Jersey recently signed petitions against the Fish & Wildlife Council’s initiation of bear hunting and more than 25 towns passed resolutions against it. Rest assured, Mr. Schundler, these people will want this information, and I will see it to that each and every one of them gets it! Please visit Bret Schundler’s interview at http://www.njsfsc.org/njsfsc/pages/Governor.html.

Bret Schundler, I am truly sorry we ever donated a dime to your campaign and Mr. Connelly was right…you are an absolute fraud. If only we knew sooner.

Susan and Jeffrey Durante
