Dear Editor:
With great humility, I thank the great Jerry Vale for visiting the Frank Sinatra Museum, birthplace of Mr. Sinatra, which is located at 415 Monroe Street.
Miraculously he appeared standing at The Sinatra Star at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 9. Mr. Vale then came into the museum and discovered the truth and vowed he would return. Mr. Vale was one of Mr. Sinatra’s dearest friends and an internationally renowned singer.
I thank him for giving another kid from Hoboken a chance allowing me to sing to him “My Kind of Town.” Special thanks to Mayor-elect Roberts and former Mayor Mr. Steve Cappiello for pledging their support to the Frank Sinatra Museum this past March. I thank Mr. Bob Foster, president of The Hoboken Historical Museum and Kevin O’Shaunessy. Mr. Foster conceived the idea of the Sinatra Star, and Mr. O’Shaunessy designed the now world-famous Star while I and my partner, Mario Lepore, were the plaque patrons.
Finally I thank Mrs. Frank Sinatra, who I met with Mr. Lepore in April for her encouraging notes.
The play, which I wrote with Bruce Stephen Foster, “Welcome Home Francis” debuts on July 10 at the Frank Sinatra Museum at 417 Monroe Street. Mr. Sinatra has returned to his roots, and all is well in Hoboken.
