Dear Editor:
I’m writing to you to express my opinion on President Bush’s policy toward the environment. I feel that even though global warming is something to be dealt with, it should be dealt with at a later time. I feel there are more important things to address right now such as the military and schools.
President Bush may have cut $2.3 billion for global warming research from the budget, but he added $4.6 billion to education. He also added $310 billion to the Pentagon for weapons research.
With rising tensions in the Middle East, we may need to go to war or just protect ourselves. After what Mr. Clinton did to the armed forces I doubt we would win. There is a need for improvement in more important areas than the environment. President Bush’s budget plan, the way it is, will help.
