Prayer and the people elected Glenn D. Cunningham

Dear Editor:

It was an extreme honor for me to work for the last months for Glenn D. Cunningham and the entire team. Certainly, the results of the mandate of the people of Jersey City on June 5 were gratifying, and we can be proud and have faith in our new Mayor. At last the doors of our City Hall will be open, and the representation will reflect the will of the people.

Throughout the campaign we worked with many distinguished people whose goal was to return the City to the representatives who have our interests at heart. Not only is Glenn Cunningham an able administrator, legislator and law enforcement official, but he has the capacity to care and understand all peoples.

A most sincere time was spent by this writer at the Prayer Vigil for Glenn Cunningham and the Team which was conducted on Sunday prior to the election at the Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church on Bergen Avenue. At that service there was a cross section of the people of Jersey City present, all races and ethnic groups praying together for the health, wisdom and success of the Cunningham Team. All present left that vigil feeling the warmth and importance of the meaning of prayer and faith that the best person would be elected to assist us in our City, and the results were certainly true to this effort.

We must now stand tall and support Mayor Cunningham and our Council for the future of our fair City. We must lift every voice and sing a song full of hope that this victory has brought us.
