In his letter two weeks ago, Tony Soares hastily wrote of some businesses leaving Hoboken and incredibly tried to connect it to Mayor Anthony Russo. For those who like to know the “real story”.
Cheap Maggies, closing business temporarily, may reopen in the future.
Schaefer’s, family business, after 60 years, decided to retire.
Carmelita’s has another restaurant outside Hoboken; decided to keep just one.
McCrory’s, national chain that went bankrupt (will soon be another discount store replacing that site.)
Tony Soares’ credibility is always questionable but gee what will he do next? Blame Anthony Russo for the weather? When you are as desperate as Dave Roberts and his crew are, they will try anything.
