This is the most ‘absurd proposal’ yet from the FWW!

Dear Editor;

Friends of the Weehawken Waterfront get more bizarre day by day.

First, they filed suit to block a planned development, which they helped to negotiate. Now, according to their most recent letters, they want an elevator constructed atop the Palisades in a residential area.

They say they are concerned about traffic. Yet, an elevator would cause a traffic nightmare as people double and triple-park in order to take advantage of the inexpensive light rail system.

This would destroy property values and impair the quality of life we now enjoy.

Our township has restored Boulevard East and refurbished its parks. Why would anyone want to undo all that good with an elevator for the convenience of non-residents?

This is their most absurd proposal yet. Marie and Joe Palladino
