Dear Editor:
On Saturday, March 10, 2001, my mother was walking on Clinton Street between 6th and 7th Street when two young men began walking behind her. As they approached her, one young man twisted her arms behind her, while the other searched through her coat pockets. She recalls hearing a man yell out to leave her alone. As he came to her rescue, the muggers ran away.
The gentleman was kind enough to walk her home and waited for her to get in safely. In all the confusion she didn’t ask his name. Although she was shaken up, she is doing fine now.
We would like to express our appreciation and take this opportunity to say “thank you” to this wonderful man for coming to Mom’s rescue.
