Hispanics celebrate ‘Dia de los Reyes’ and have a wonderful time

Dear Editor:

Three Kings Day, also known as “Dia de los Reyes” is a special day in the Hispanic community. It’s a day that is celebrated worldwide and throughout Latin America for it represents a coming together to give thanks and praise to the Lord for all we have been blessed with in our lives.

Nellie Moyeno and the Circle of Life Committee put together an excellent event to help celebrate this special occasion. Thanks to the efforts of people like David Anthony, Migdalia Perez, Jean Rodriguez, George Ortiz, Carmen Maldonado, Evelyn Ortiz, Elsie Vargas, Antonia Rodriguez, Arlette Braxton and everyone who pitched in and lent a hand, everyone had a terrific time! Not to mention, the food was absolutely delicious.

It’s nice to know we can count on those who, through their generous community service, show their deep commitment to the community, by promoting cultural affairs that benefit us all. Keeping the faith and culture alive is most important to us all and especially those of us who have lived through not only these good times, but remember full well the not so great ones as well.
