Dear Editor:
Forget the Presidential 2000 Election fiasco in Florida?….not so fast!!
It’s well known that a politically biased US Supreme Court in a 5 to 4 ruling rejected a recount of Florida’s cast votes and handed the 2000 Election to George Walker Bush.
Our nation still wants to know who honestly and finally won our 2000 Presidential Election. What was the final vote count in highly contested Florida that turned this election?
Our present political-actors now say just forget what happened in this election and let’s get on with our country’s life and issues. NJ Gov. Christie Whitman suggested a more direct solution to Florida’s recount vote problem. Burn all those ballots, pronto!
But Florida’s Legislature or Judiciary are not going to count its populations’s final cast votes. They are finished with this election.
A group of news media is stepping into this issue and is now doing this vote count in the fairest manner possible Their progress can and should be regularly monitored on these internet websites. The Miami Herald (www.miamiherald.com) plus other newspapers and the Judicial Watch (www.judicialwatch.org) are taking the lead on this recount effort.
It will take one to two months to complete the recount. Soon we could put to rest whether the now “Court-Elected” George W. Bush did also win a majority of electoral votes, too, as required by the US Constitution to be our president.
God Bless our country and our new president!
