Grateful for making Thanksgiving Day special for our guests at the Soup Kitchen

Dear Editor:

The Hoboken Clergy Coalition Shelter is extremely grateful for the many donations we have received during this season. I am awed by the thoughtfulness of so many people.

In October The Hoboken Ski Club, through the work of Kelly Clarke, shared a Monday Night Football fundraiser at the Liberty Bar and Restaurant. Dawn Kaplan, owner of the Liberty Bar and Restaurant, along with several of our local merchants, donated raffle prizes adding to our success. Ms. Clarke was incredible in her organization of the event! We are very grateful for her efforts. The money raised has gone toward a much-needed freezer.

Thanks to the wonderful donations of John Zusa, from the A&P, Kathleen LaParle, Andrew Rose and his friends were able to cook a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner for our guests at the Soup Kitchen. We were treated to wonderful turkey and all the trimmings, including homemade pies. Together with our evening volunteers who served the food, we had a great celebration.
