Black Friday has come and gone, so the countdown to Christmas has begun. Parents will be scurrying all month to shopping centers and web malls to pick up the hottest new games, toys and trendy trinkets. In 1998, kids were fascinated with Furby. Last year, Pokemon was all the craze. This year, PlayStation 2 is in such high demand that some of its starting eBay bids are as high as $850. But not all North Bergen kids have fallen for the hype, and the following is what they said they wanted this holiday season.
David Alberto, 17
“I want a Honda Civic with rims, a phat stereo system and some hot tints. I also want some clothes like jeans and shirts by Iceburg, the brand Puff Daddy wears.”
Sudalik Santos, 14
“I want clothes. I want fancy clothes like party clothes. And I want a beeper and cell phone to communicate with my friends.”
Ariel Espinal, 8
“I just want a Gameboy, because I could play games like Batman Beyond. Oh, and I want a scooter too, because I can ride it down hills.”
Aaron Cruz, 8
“I want a scooter, so I can ride with my sister. I want PlayStation 2, because then I can play DVD and any kind of game that’s on a CD.”
Fioreala Niti, 7
“I want a Beach Barbie, because I love the beach. I want a Barbie car too, because my Barbies love to drive.”
Preyel Patel, 7
“I want the machine that makes designs on your clothes, so I can make hearts and decorations on my clothes. I want nice clothes, like glittery clothes to go out with.”
Miranda Mable, 6
“I want a Dancing Debbie doll because it dances and copies what you do and when you stop dancing, she stops. I’m going to Universal Studios this year for Christmas, and I want to see all the characters like Grinch and Spiderman.”
