Hear ye, hear ye, citizens of Hoboken, support Councilman Roberts for mayor

Dear Editor:

I would like this letter to be an open call to all the citizens of the City of Hoboken to support publicly 6th Ward Councilman Dave Roberts in his upcoming mayoral election. I do not have to tell you where Councilman Roberts stands on the political and personal issues concerning the residents of the City of Hoboken, because Councilman Roberts “pulls no punches and tells you himself” without hiding behind the walls or curtains of public office secretly plotting with a hidden agenda; nor are there any personal ulterior motives other than the preservation and well being of the residents of the City of Hoboken and the integrity of which this city was built on. Councilman Roberts will put an end to the “political prostitutes” whom are “barnicaling for power” in the city government now. Many of whom do not have the well being of the public at hand but rather that of their own personal gain and profit at the “blood and sweat” of the hands of hardworking tax paying citizens.

Councilman Roberts is a front line soldier for the people of Hoboken, a “Ronin” (Masterless Samurai who answers to no one other than his Honor, Loyalty and Integrity lost in place in the normal loyalty pattern of Japanese feudal society). He is a day today, door to door councilman who is always there when you need him, not ringing your doorbell at 10 o’clock at night 12 hours before the polls open with the hope of obtaining a vote.

You can call Councilman Roberts many things (both positive and negative) but primarily you can call him at home when there is a problem, and he will be there immediately to investigate and rectify it if he can do so. He is a family man, entrepreneur, true Hobokenite and voice of the Hoboken people. By voting for Roberts you are saying “yes to the increase in the quality of life, goodbye political favoritism, goodbye to controversial news headlines reeking of political corruption and federal investigations into questionable activity within Hoboken’s city government, goodbye to abuses of power within the police department and selective parking enforcement, goodbye to over development, hello to reasonable parking rules and regulations and goodbye to the I’m entitled to a raise because I am in political office attitude so cut me a $20,000 to $40,000 check please without city council approval.”

The headlines and investigations as of late are getting old and making the Hoboken people sick to their stomachs. It is reminiscent of Ancient Rome and of West New York (oh what a parallel). It is a time to change the garbage bag in the barrel because it is beginning to smell and attract flies. Councilman Roberts is the new bag in the barrel, fresh and clean and ready to be filled with a new and improved view of Hoboken.

You have my support Councilman and that of the residents of the 6th Ward. I will personally bring down a large group of volunteers to support your election campaign and work at your headquarters when you make the candidacy announcement official.

After the election, the people in office now are only going to see the inside of City Hall either in a re-run of your victory speech or in a photo album at the Hoboken Historical Museum. All hail Mayor Roberts!
