A whole new dog Shelter looking to adopt animals

In case you didn’t know, October is National Pet Adoption Month. And the newly dubbed Assisi Center on Johnston Ave. (formerly the Hudson County SPCA) is looking to find homes for its cat and dog residents.

An article in the Aug. 27 Reporter featured a picture of “Project,” a mixed breed who was found tied up outside the center early one morning. The dog, as seen above, has been nursed back to health and is in a foster home.

Many other animals like Project are available for adoption, according to Tom Hart, director of the center.

For more information on how to adopt a pet, call the Assisi Center at 435-3557. The center is located at 480 Johnston Ave., Jersey City.
