If you didn’t vote, don’t complain

Dear Editor: I would like to call to the attention of the registered voters of Hoboken the fact that only 4,600 votes were cast out of 21,600 registered voters in the April 18, 2000 election. Each and every citizen of Hoboken should have voted concerning the welfare of our children. How much extra time could have been put into casting a vote that could truly make a difference in our children’s education? Shame on those who were either too busy or did not care enough to be bothered with casting their vote in the Board of Education election. If we cannot make the effort for our children, then do not complain when the ones in office do not meet our children’s best interests. Thank you for printing this article. Jerry Forman
