Young shoulders suffer overload

Dear Editor: I am a mother of five children and a grandmother of nine. I am very much concerned about these children carrying all these books in their book bags on their backs, that it could affect their bones in the back and neck in the future. I went to pick up my grandson from school and went to pick up his book bag to help him. I couldn’t even carry it myself. I think the teachers in the schools should realize that some of these children are small. I think some of the teachers should try carrying these book bags a distance, I’m sure they wouldn’t get too far. Concerned Hoboken Grandmother
