Dear Editor: On behalf of past president Michael Makarski and the members of the Secaucus PBA Local No. 84, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the residents and businesses of Secaucus for their generous support of our 1999 Holiday Gift Drive. Through your generous donations of food, clothing, gifts (toys, etc.) and financial support, we were able to brighten the holiday season for a number of Secaucus families. Your support also allowed us to extend holiday cheer to those staying at nearby homeless shelters, halfway houses, rehabilitation centers and the United States Marine Corps’ “Toys for Tots” program. I hope to continue Mike’s fine work and provide for even more families in future Gift Drives. With your continued support I feel we will accomplish that goal. In closing, I would like to apologize for the tardiness of this acknowledgment. I have been busy with personal commitments and my transition into PBA office.
