Taxes and crime may be falling in the city, but not everything is perfect for Mayor Anthony Russo. The smooth talking mayor, who has made appearances in a number of films including a cameo in Analyze This, had his appearance in Restaurant, a major motion picture that opened Friday, edited out of the final version of the movie. “I’m on the editing room floor,” said Russo just before the picture opened. “I was looking forward to the movie’s release, especially because it is supposed to be very good, but then I found out that the scene I was in, is not in there. I heard the picture ran 30 minutes over, so they had to take some things out,” he said. Russo said it would have been a big break for him since it was the first speaking part he would have had in a major motion picture. Restaurant, which stars Adrien Brody and hip-hop superstar Lauryn Hill, is set in Hoboken.
