The quarterly day of arts events called JC Fridays – always held near the start of each season – tends to be the harbinger of upcoming events, and so when you see the first flurries of snow and jingle of holiday bells, you can rest assured the first Friday in December will bring you a treat.
Kicking off on Dec. 2 this year, JC Fridays provides a rich assortment of artistic treats in many venues throughout Jersey City.
Restaurants, galleries, stores, and event spaces throughout Jersey City will showcase a variety of art-related happenings including visual exhibitions, live music, performance acts, educational demonstrations, and more. All events are free and open to the public.
One of the preeminent art scenes in the tri-state area, Jersey City is home to artists and musicians of all types and with all kinds of talent.
Held quarterly, JC Fridays draws thousands of residents from inside and outside Jersey City hoping to get a glimpse of what is current in the arts scene.
Sponsored in part by the Hudson Reporter, JC Fridays started in 2006 as a presentation by Art House Productions. The purpose of the event was to expose the public to local Jersey City talent that includes photographers, painters, dancers, filmmakers, and craft artists.
