To the Editor:
Along with Father Gregory Perez, our staff and the people we serve, I would like to express The Windmill Alliance’s warmest thanks to the many people who made our participation in the annual Bergen Point Fall Festival a major success.
In particular, we are grateful to the Peninsula Masonic Lodge No. 99, the Knights of Columbus Star of the Sea Council 371, and Bayonne Exterminating for their financial contributions. We also thank the many local vendors and merchants who so graciously donated gifts for our raffle baskets.
We thank the Bayonne UEZ, especially Terrence Malloy, Dee Dee Bottino, and Ann Nowak who offered us guidance and support; and the Bayonne Parking Authority and First Ward Councilman Tom Cotter, who gave us assistance.
Of course, we could not have participated without our Windmill Alliance staff members. They gave of their time and energy leading up to and on the day of the event itself. Most of all, we thank the great members of the Bayonne community who joined us on that day and supported us.
The Windmill Alliance continues to meet the needs of the disabled and the disadvantaged through three programs. The Windmill Center – a state-certified day habilitation program – continues to serve the needs of more than 40 developmentally disabled adults. We also operate a state-licensed residency program housing 15 disabled adults. Finally, our H.I.G.H.W.A.Y.S. program continues its community outreach programs – free of charge – to all members of our community who find themselves in need.
So, once again, our heartfelt thanks to all our benefactors . Your help enables us to help so many others!
