Talmor leads Colts to win

At (5-0), the Colts have been riding high all season while the (0-4) Bears are still hungry for their first JCC of Bayonne Jr. Division Indoor Flag Football victory. Racing out to a 14-0 lead with Anthony Baez dashing wire to wire, Aaliyana Cifuentes cashing in on a “Pick Six” interception and Toni Rivada tacking on a two point run, the Colts looked unstoppable. Chipping away, the Bears got on the board as David Matos rushed full court while Mariam Rasslan’s two point catch made it 14-8, Colts. Playing her best game of the season, the Colts’ Toni Rivada showed off her speed by sweeping in for a TD and two point sprint to increase the Colts’ advantage to 22-8. Staying in the hunt, the Bears’ Mariam Rasslan reeled in a TD and two point toss to cut the Colts’ advantage to 22-16. With the feisty Bears clawing at their heels, the Colts turned to Aviv Talmor who gave his squad some breathing room by finding paydirt once via a 20 yard TD pass followed by a coast to coast TD jaunt and a two point grab making it 36-16, Colts. As the Colts defense braced for long passes by the Bears, the Bears instead zipped short strikes to Amir and Louai Asouti and the Asouti brother answered to move the ball deep into the Colts’ redzone. Digging in, the Colts’ DBs made three big plays with Anthony Fraser and Alina Danelyants leading the charge to end the Bear’s scoring threat. Hoping to go down swinging, the Bears got on the board again with a long bomb to Matos and two point snare by Rasslan but the Colts still held on for a 36-24 win.
