90, of Bayonne, passed away surrounded by her family on November 5, 2016. Born in Jersey City, Joan, also known by her birth name Johanna, and fondly called “Miss Joan” as well, was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the wife to the late Charles Benford and mother to Joan Pelligrino (Anthony), Charles Benford (Sylvia), Ellen Rosig (Mario), Joe Benford (Rose), Joyce Dobronsky (Richard) and the late John Benford. She was grandmother to Joseph (Lisa) & Michael (Amy) Pellegrino, Holly Bonner (Joe), Molly Borst (Kurt), Maggy Burns (Greg), Hannah & Matthew Dobronsky, Jordan Benford and to the late Charles Hugh Benford. Joan was great-grandmother to Nicholas, Adriana, Alexandra, Isabella, Cecilia, Nuala, Aoife, Logan & Conrad.
