Cifuentes siblings spark Chargers win

Meeting for the first time this season, the (1-0) Chargers and the (0-1) Eagles were both hoping for a strong start in week one of the JCC of Bayonne Indoor Flag Football Sr. Division. Going toe to toe for the first 20 minutes, the game seemed to be destined to be a defensive brawl as a TD by the Chargers’ Aaliyana Cifuentes and a defensive safety was matched by the Eagles’ defense notching a safety and a David Matos’ TD grab dead locking the bout at 8-8. Looking for a spark, the Chargers’ Aaliyana Cifuentes pilfered an Eagles’ pass to launch what would be a Chargers’ rout. With QB Kyle Arano at the helm, the Chargers’ offense exploded with Aaliyana Cifuentes adding two more TDs and 8 extra points while Alejandro Cifuentes tallied both an offensive and defensive TD with two-defensive safeties accounting for 44-8 Chargers advantage. Stunned by the bull dozing, the Eagles kept plugging away with Andres and Ian Giron tying their hand at QB while Mariam Rasslan added some punch to the running game. In spite of the reshuffling, the Eagles couldn’t close the gap as the Chargers’ ruled in a 44-8 win.
